The testing process for hiring of medical crews is broken down into three sections: 1)Oral Interview, 2)Written Exam and 3) Hands-on Critical Care Practical Exam. Testing is highly concentrated on the critical care patient.

Flight Nurse - Registered Nurse with a minimum of three years experience in critical care (Emergency Department and/or ICU/CCU) with the following certifications: (Will consider RN with two years experience if Paramedic experience is also met as below)
- BLS
- ACLS
- TNCC or Trauma equiv.
- PALS, ENPC or equiv.
- Heavy preference for pre-hospital experience
- Prefer: CEN, CCRN, CFRN (must maintain one within 12 months of hire)
- All crew members must obtain ATLS audit and NRP certificate within 12 months of hire
Flight Paramedic - Texas Certified or Licensed Paramedic with a minimum of four years of MICU experience in a high volume 911 system with the following certifications:
- BLS
- ACLS
- ITLS or Trauma equiv.
- PALS or equiv.
- Must obtain FP-C or CCEMT-P within 18 months of hire.
- All crew members must obtain ATLS audit and NRP certificate within 12 months of hire.

Communications Specialist: Air Medical Communications Specialist
Job Description: HALO-Flight Air Medical Communications Specialists (ACS) perform flight coordination, flight following, and all related communications duties for all HALO-Flight aircraft and air crews. The ACS is the primary point of contact for HALO-Flight. They coordinate flight requests, flight follow HALO-Flight aircraft, and are the communications link between HALO-Flight's customers, HALO-Flight air crew members, ground personnel, and the hospital. The ACS is a vital component of the HALO-Flight Safety Program.
Qualifications: High School Graduate; Understanding of Medical Terminology; Currently Licensed EMT-B or at least two years EMS field experience preferred; Able to type 30 WPM minimum; previous Flight, EMS, or Public Safety Communications experience preferred; Must possess excellent telephone and customer service skills; Must be able to multi-task, be detail oriented, and remain calm under pressure; Full time schedule includes three 12 hour shifts per week.
